What can I donate?
- You can donate most any vehicle, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and recreational vehicles. They do not have to be currently running. Your vehicle donation will be sold at an auction or to salvage depending on condition.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
- Yes, the Abundant Harvest Aquaponics is a non-profit organization and all donations qualify as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax return.
What do I need to donate my car?
- The title to the car must be in your name. We will also need some information about where the car is located and the condition of the car. This will assist us in scheduling proper towing arrangements.
Will you pick up my car?
- A towing company will call you to schedule the pick-up of your vehicle. You will need to give the driver the keys to the vehicle as well as your signed title.
How is the value of my car determined?
- The IRS allows you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax form equal to the amount the vehicle sells for at auction unless it sells for less than $500. If your vehicle sells for less than $500 you may deduct no more than $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you will need to include the IRS form 1098C. Vehicles for Charity will supply this documentation after your vehicle sells. We recommend you consult your tax adviser with questions about your deduction.

This includes support from dozens of volunteers, students, and others who both help in gardening, harvesting, food preparation and distribution. They also join us in learning the craft of growing nutritious food using the aquaponics method.

Employer-matched giving
One of the easiest ways to increase your gift to Abundant Harvest Aquaponics is through your employer’s matching gift program. Thousands of companies, including corporations, foundations, not-for-profit organizations, and associations, match their employees’ charitable contributions—sometimes for as much as double the amount of the initial gift.
Companies have various methods for matching gift request submissions: online forms, automated phone systems, or a paper form that you submit to Abundant Harvest Aquaponics. Many companies will match personal gifts, such as cash, stocks, marketable securities, and the value of your volunteer time. Companies may also match gifts from employee spouses, retirees, and board members.
Here’s how to participate
- Find out if your company matches employee donations. If your company does not currently match employee donations, you might suggest it consider doing so.
- Obtain a matching gift form from your human resources office and review the program guidelines to ensure that Abundant Harvest Aquaponics is eligible to receive matching gifts. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer.
- Complete the donor section of the form and submit it, along with your check or credit card authorization, to:

Supporting Abundant Harvest through Paypal
100% of the donations the PayPal Giving Fund receives are granted to charities.
Your donation will be made to PayPal Giving Fund, an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) public charity (Federal Tax ID: 45-0931286). PayPal Giving Fund is the charity of record and will provide the donation receipt for your gift.
PayPal Giving Fund grants the funds to recommended charities. Typically, the charity you recommend will receive the funds after PayPal Giving Fund receives the donation.
Pending delivery to charities, donations are held in a non-interest bearing account.
*In very limited cases, when a recommended charity ceases to meet PayPal Giving Fund’s legal or other eligibility requirements after your donation is made, PayPal Giving Fund will grant the donated funds to a similar charity.
